MaxxCare Air Heel Protector with Vicair Technology

Principal Action

The MaxxCare Heel Protector off-loads the heel and ankle for total pressure relief. It offers protection

against shear and friction on the heel.

Indications for Use:

The MaxxCare Heel Protector is suitable for use with patients with an increased risk for heel and/or ankle

pressure sores. It can be used as additional therapeutic measure in patients with existing decubitus of the

heel or ankle. The design of the MaxxCare Heel Protector helps to prevent footdrop.

WARNING: Do not use with patients with extensive unredressable footdrop.

Built:

The MaxxCare Heel Protector is constructed from a soft outer cover consisting of flame retardant and

bioactive fibers. The inner compartments are filled with air tubes that never need to be re-filled or

maintained because of their extreme air tightness. The air tubes are positioned to off-load the heel

completely. In order to protect the heel in a patient there is a separate compartment covering the heel itself

that will allow for pressure distribution and protections against shear and friction.

WARNING: Avoid sharp objects penetrating the air tubes.

WARNING: Check the air pressure of the air tubes in the Heel Protector on a regular basis. If loss of air is

suspected, discontinue use immediately.

Fitting onto the body:

The MaxxCare Heel Protector is held in place by adjustable hook/look straps. The MaxxCare Heel Protector

is designed to stay in place even on restless residents.

WARNING: Make sure you never over tighten the straps because this may result in discomfort and/or

strangulation of the blood flow with subsequent tissue damage.

Cleaning:

The MaxxCare Heel Protector can be washed at low temperatures in the washing machine. Do not tumble

dry. Use after complete drying.

WARNING: The MaxxCare Heel Protector is for single user application.

Warranty:

The MaxxCare Heel Protector has a limited one year warranty on damage or malfunction as a result from

production failures. Excluded from warranty is damage as a result of wrong use.
